TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, technically known as

Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), is a precision arc welding process that uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode to produce the weld. It is widely considered the most versatile but also one of the most difficult welding techniques to master.

    MIG welding, or Metal Inert Gas welding

  • Metal Inert Gas welding, is a popular arc welding process officially known as Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW). It is widely considered the easiest method for beginners to learn due to its semi-automated nature and versatility across various metals.

    Key Benefits and Use Cases

  • The process uses a continuously fed solid wire electrode that travels through a welding gun. When the trigger is pulled, an electric arc forms between this wire and the metal workpiece, melting both to create a "weld pool" that fuses the parts together. Simultaneously, an inert shielding gas (typically Argon, CO2, or a mix) is released from the gun to protect the molten pool from atmospheric contaminants like oxygen, which would otherwise weaken the joint.
