The Porsche 935 K3 is arguably one of the most iconic racing Porsches ever created.

Born from the legendary Kremer brothers, Erwin and Manfred Kremer, the K3 became synonymous with Porsche's uncompromising approach to motorsport. Its dramatic silhouette, extreme aerodynamic design and unmistakable presence have ensured that the K3 remains an enduring icon decades after it first dominated the racetrack.

Its influence continues today, with K3-inspired builds being created around the world for both road and circuit use — each generation bringing its own interpretation, engineering and evolution to one of Porsche's greatest racing designs.

INTRODUCING THE 997 K3R

The Porsche 997 K3R brings the spirit of the original K3 into the modern era, combining the unmistakable character of Porsche's legendary race car with the proportions and architecture of the 997 chassis.

The K3R has been in development since 2016, with a limited number of cars built, including examples based on the 997 Cup chassis and a unique 997.1 Turbo powered by Porsche's legendary Mezger engine.

The K3R has also been proven in competition, including appearances in the VLN racing series in Germany, giving the project genuine motorsport heritage rather than simply drawing inspiration from the track.

 

NOT A MODIFIED 935 K3

There is a common misconception that the 997 K3R is simply a modified

version of the original 935 K3 aero package. It isn't.

The 997 K3R was designed specifically for the 997 chassis from the ground up. It does not simply adapt or modify the original K3 bodywork, and it shares no original K3 panels.

Every body panel has been completely redesigned to work with the architecture, proportions and distinctive lines of the 997.

The philosophy is one of old meets new — taking the unmistakable visual DNA and attitude of the original K3 and reinterpreting it specifically for a modern Porsche platform.

The result is a car that pays homage to one of Porsche's greatest racing icons while remaining entirely its own creation.
